Launched in 2021, RACER-5-0.80 (Racer-5 COBOT) is a 6-axis articulated cobot with a 5 kg payload and 809 mm reach, that can automatically switch from industrial robot speed to collaborative speed in complete safety. Developed to meet the demand for fast, costeffective collaborative robots, it can be used in restricted spaces for various applications.

Comau also showcased its new MATE-XT exoskeleton, designed to support workers in industrial, non-industrial and outdoor environments. It’s the only commercially-available exoskeleton with EAWS certification, attesting to its proven ability to reduce biomechanical loads during strenuous tasks.

Comau’s vast portfolio of innovative solutions for advanced industrial automation, digitalization and electrification are also on display, including: in.Grid, the IIot platform that enables data analysis and real-time monitoring of equipment and systems; MI.RA/Thermography, an innovative, in-line testing and quality control system to optimize industrial-scale battery manufacturing by using thermal imaging and artificial intelligence; and the highly specialized Comau Laser Lab, which offers advanced operational solutions in electrification for end-to-end battery and motor manufacturing.

For machining, the SmartDrive 700L e 800L solutions deliver fast, precise and flexible machining processes, while Urane 25, a horizontal machining center with linear motors and electric spindles, ensures high-speed performance and stable, long-term accuracy.

Finally, Comau’s e.DOTM Experience platform, which uses robotics as an engaging learning tool thanks to the interactive and open-source e.DO robot, was also be on display. Comau’s participation at Hannover Messe Digital 2021 was enriched by two live events: on April 13, from 3 to 4pm, Duilio Amico, Marketing and Network Development Director - Comau Robotics and Automation Products, spoke at the online conference “Italian Industrial Transformation”; while on April 15, from 3 to 4pm, Comau showed to the public its new cobot during the live stream event, “Racer-5 COBOT: a new paradigm in collaboratives robotics”.
