Meet the best of the best: aero to match the Nitrogen, pure road performance to match the Gallium Pro, with race-ready handling and premium ride quality. The all-new Sum features Argon 18’s most advanced layup and technologies, offering a premium combination of aero and lightweight engineering, while ensuring ride quality.
Light, fast and designed to keep you on the road all day, the all-new Sum is the bike for the classics, the crits, the climbs - and any challenge in between.
- Have It All: CFD analysis shows the Sum's aero performance as equivalent to the all-aero Nitrogen and 9% faster than the Gallium Pro Disc. Add to that CFD-optimization to maximize aero shapes while stripping unnecessary weight. The downtube, toptube and chainstays are optimized for the perfect ratio of size, material thickness and aerodynamics. The hourglass-shaped headtube provides low drag while being rigid and lightweight.
- Stay In Front: Design details like dropped seatstays and an indented seattube assure compliance in all the right places to keep you rooted in the saddle. That gives you 30-35% more rear compliance than the latest-generation Gallium Pro. An updated size range reflects our knowledge of rider fit, providing the best handling and positioning across all sizes.
- Packed With Features: Loaded with real-world, rider-oriented details like a non-proprietary cockpit, and our updated 3D system for the widest fit window with easy adjustment and maximum stiffness. The Sum also features generous tire clearance (30c).
With the launch of the Sum at the top of our road race category, the Argon 18 lineup sees a refresh as the classic Gallium Pro and Gallium are retired, as well as the aero Nitrogen. The Sum line will feature two models, the Sum Pro and the Sum, as framesets and with SRAM Force AXS and SRAM Rival AXS builds. Both models will be available globally in late 2022.
To celebrate the new addition to our lineup, Argon 18 welcomed UCI ProTeam Novo Nordisk into the family in January 2022, with a fleet of custom painted Sum Pros. Team Novo Nordisk is a UCI ProTeam founded in 2008. All TNN athletes compete with type 1 diabetes. As the world’s first all-diabetes professional cycling team, the team races to inspire, educate and empower everyone affected by diabetes as they compete against the best cyclists in the world.
