Poland-based DefendEye has announced that its tube-launched, AI-powered autonomous search drone now comes equipped with built-in Starlink Mini satellite connectivity. According to the company, the upgrade ensures “seamless operation in cities, deserts, mountains, or offshore,” enhancing capabilities for search and rescue, public safety, and defense missions.
The integration allows the drone and its cloud-based command center to be deployed without relying on cellular coverage, while still delivering live, high-definition video feeds to operations centers and mobile users worldwide.
DefendEye CEO James Buchheim stated: “By embedding Starlink Mini within our launch tube, we’ve eliminated the final barrier to truly global aerial awareness. First responders, search-and-rescue teams, and military units can now deploy drones in the most remote areas, stream live video to any control room, and even initiate launches from across the globe.”
The company is currently conducting live demonstrations with select customers and is now accepting orders. Fully integrated systems and demo kits are expected to begin shipping in September 2025.
