Hyundai Motor Company (Hyundai) continues to enhance comfort and user experience in its vehicles. As part of its latest upgrade, the company has integrated Google Places into its navigation systems. This new feature is available in all vehicles equipped with the ccNC infotainment system and the latest software update, including the KONA, the new SANTA FE, the new TUCSON, the new IONIQ 5, IONIQ 5 N, and IONIQ 9. The rollout began in June 2025 and also applies to vehicles already delivered to customers.
Google Places brings a range of benefits, enriching in-vehicle navigation with an extensive database of points of interest. It offers valuable information such as opening hours, descriptions, and photos, while also improving address input through enhanced autocomplete functionality and more accurate free-text search.
Fast, Intuitive Input and Richer Information
Google Places enhances the navigation experience with smarter, more powerful features—perfectly aligned with Hyundai’s commitment to innovation. Hyundai drivers now benefit from access to Google’s vast location database, encompassing over 200 million places, making it easier than ever to find destinations. Address input is quick and intuitive, with real-time suggestions appearing as users type.
In addition, Google Points of Interest delivers in-depth details including descriptions, ratings, filters, and curated brand lists, helping users effortlessly discover restaurants, attractions, and local businesses.
Hyundai and Google have steadily strengthened their partnership in recent years, working together to deliver cutting-edge navigation and infotainment solutions. This collaboration is set to continue, with both companies aiming to develop even more advanced features for the future.
