Rombat will build a park with over 5,500 photovoltaic modules

One of the largest prosumer investments in Transylvania is taking shape in Bistrița. Rombat announced the investment in a 4.2 MW photovoltaic park, which will be executed by Datacor.

It is a project financed by PNRR, notes Transilvania Business. Rombat will build a 4.2 MW photovoltaic park in Bistrita, through a program co-financed by the National Recovery and Resilience Plan.

Rombat's management has already signed the execution contract with a leader in the field: Datacor. They have a deadline to put the park into operation in the summer of 2024.

The investment involves 5,538 photovoltaic modules, 545 W, monocrystalline, bifacial placed on the ground, 2,304 photovoltaic modules, 545 W, monocrystalline, monofacial placed on the roof of the plastic mass injection hall and on the roof of the capacity hall 3.42 100 kW inverters, post transformation.

"All these components translate into an annual reduction of CO2 emissions estimated at 1,082 tonnes equivalent / year.

By building the photovoltaic parks in Copșa Mică and Bistrita, we are probably making the biggest investment of this kind in Transylvania under the prosumer regime", said manager Rombat.

The second solar park, with a capacity of 1MW, will be in Copșa Mică, where the company operates Rebat, its own recycling centre for used batteries.

Rombat said it will also invest in an oxygen production facility at Copșa Mică.

Rombat, one of three battery firms owned by South Africa-based automotive and energy storage group Metair Investments, was founded more than 40 years ago as Acumulatorul Bistrița.
