SolarEdge, a leading provider of smart energy solutions, has entered into a strategic partnership with Schaeffler, a prominent automotive and industrial supplier, to roll out EV charging hardware and software across company sites. The initiative aims to install 2,300 charging points by 2030, starting with Schaeffler’s global headquarters in Herzogenaurach, Germany.
Under the agreement, SolarEdge Technologies will support the deployment of EV charging infrastructure throughout Schaeffler’s European operations. The first phase involves electrifying the headquarters’ parking facilities to serve both employees and the company’s vehicle fleet.
The systems will incorporate SolarEdge’s Wevo technology, part of its ONE for C&I platform for commercial and industrial energy management. The rollout includes charging hardware, backend software, and site-level energy management tools, with user access provided via a dedicated mobile app.
According to SolarEdge, the integrated platform is designed to optimise charging operations, balance site loads, and dynamically manage energy resources, enabling scalable deployment across multiple sites.
The collaboration builds on previous joint projects involving solar photovoltaic installations at Schaeffler locations. This new agreement expands the partnership into EV infrastructure and aligns with Schaeffler’s goal of installing approximately 3,000 charging points across Europe—and 5,000 globally—by 2030, a target announced one year ago.
“Our solar technology has powered Schaeffler rooftops with safe, reliable energy for many years. Now, our Enterprise Service Group is proud to further support Schaeffler’s energy transition by delivering EV charging software, services, and hardware”, said Naama Ohana, Chief Commercial & Industrial Division at SolarEdge. “This is a great example of how our advanced software capabilities can add value to our customers’ energy transition strategy.”
