Saint-Gobain announces the construction of a second plasterboard manufacturing line in its Turda plant, in northern Romania.
This €45 million investment aims to considerably increase the plasterboard manufacturing capacity in Romania in order to meet the rapidly growing local needs as well as those of the Central and Eastern European countries, and to secure Saint-Gobain's leadership position in light construction markets.

Strong national variations in EU sales of electric cars are clearly correlated to a country’s standard of living, according to new research by the European Automobile Manufacturers’ Association (ACEA).
Battery electric and plug-in hybrid cars made up 10.5% of all new cars sold in the EU last year. However, 10 member states still had a market share of lower than 3%. The analysis demonstrates that consumer uptake of electric cars is directly linked to a country’s GDP per capita, indicating that affordability remains a major issue.

Mumbai-listed car parts producer Sandhar Technologies, with operations in Spain, Poland, and Mexico, will invest EUR 25 million in a production facility located in the Prejmer industrial park, in Brasov county (central Romania).
The investment will create 125 workplaces, according to the local authorities that confirmed the project. The company will develop the plant this year.

Lotus has unveiled the Emira, the last combustion engine sports car to be produced in Hethel before the marque embarks on all-electric models.
