The German group BAUER, one of the world market leaders in the production of medium and high-pressure compressors up to 500 bar, opened its new factory in Ghimbav, Brasov County. The company became known worldwide for its compressors, which charge breathing air cylinders for firefighters and divers.
The factory in Ghimbav started production in February this year, and in October the official inauguration took place, in the presence of the owners of the BAUER group. The location in Ghimbav already has a number of 150 employees, who work both in the production area and in the research and development area. From the portfolio of the BAUER group, Ghimbav produces both piston and screw compressors of various models, sizes, pressures for various applications.
The objective of the German company with regard to the factory in Ghimbav is to expand its current production capacities in response to the growing needs of the specialty market, starting from a well-defined strategy based on technological development in the field and the internalization of productive systems.
The investment plan of the BAUER Kompressoren factory in Ghimbav for the period 2022-2032 is over 50 million Euros, consisting of 2 stages and including the construction of a modern site at the forefront of technology. According to the strategic plan, the factory in Ghimbav will have an annual capacity of 28,000 compressors.
