Alfa Romeo will participate in TIMISOARA AUTO EXPO 2024, the main new car fair in western Romania. The event will take place at Shopping City Timișoara on June 08-09, 2024.
Alfa Romeo continues its expansion in the premium SUV segment. According to Jean-Philippe Imparato, CEO of the Italian brand, Alfa Romeo is to approve the development of a future large electric SUV by the end of this year. Moreover, according to the British publication Autocar, the future model would be a rival for the Porsche Cayenne. If Alfa Romeo approves the development of the future premium electric SUV, it would be launched in 2027.
From the first information, the new electric SUV would be based on the STLA Large platform developed by Stellantis, the group that owns Alfa Romeo. Instead, the development of the new model will depend a lot on the evolution of the market regarding this category of electric SUVs, especially in markets like North America or China.
"The question is whether we need to move up the segment," says Imparato. "And for me the answer is yes: we have to move up in the segment. We have everything – the platform, the engines and the software. We can push the limits to the maximum and I have some design sketches that are very good", added the head of the brand.
At the end of May, Alfa Romeo shone at Concorso d'Eleganza Villa d'Este 2024.

As for the "Best of Show" winner, the Alfa Romeo 8C 2300 from 1932 has Figoni's signature Spider body design. We are talking here about an example based on the short-wheelbase version of the pre-war chassis produced by Alfa Romeo, with a 2.3-liter 8-cylinder engine under the hood. It is capable of delivering 142 hp. An assessment of the current price for the Alfa Romeo 8C 2300 Figoni spider aims at over three million euros.
