Valeo, a global leader in Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS), and Capgemini announced a strategic collaboration focused on the testing and validation of a new, fully integrated ADAS solution up to Level 2+. With this initiative, the two companies aim to address a critical challenge in modern mobility: enhancing vehicle safety to help reduce accidents, improve driver support, and accelerate the path toward autonomous driving.
Valeo’s latest ADAS system is designed to elevate the driving experience by making it safer, more comfortable, and more intuitive. It combines a 360-degree sensor suite—featuring cameras and radars—with software-defined functions. By integrating sensors, intelligence, and engineering expertise into a turnkey solution, Valeo empowers manufacturers to streamline development, shorten time-to-market, and reduce costs. Production of this new architecture is planned for 2028 with a major automotive OEM.
To ensure seamless functionality across the vehicle’s complex ecosystem, Valeo will leverage its proven strengths in hardware innovation, software development, and large-scale system integration. This new level of system integration will significantly raise the standards for testing and validation. Capgemini will play a pivotal role by delivering end-to-end services, ranging from system and software development to data-driven verification, validation, and homologation. Its contribution will include global data collection campaigns, scalable data platforms, rigorous testing protocols, and the use of AI and augmented engineering—bringing efficiency, quality, and speed to the development process.
Testing, validation, and data platforms: The backbone of ADAS performance and safety
Validating such a comprehensive ADAS system requires more than testing individual sensors. It demands holistic assessment of the entire system to ensure that all interconnected components perform reliably and cohesively in safety-critical situations.
Valeo has already demonstrated its leadership in testing and validating highly complex systems such as LiDAR and imaging radars. It is the only company worldwide with two Level 3 driving systems homologated, underscoring its expertise in vehicle systems, ADAS functions, and fine-tuning user functionalities for optimal performance. With solutions designed for adaptability and compliance with stringent regulatory and safety standards, Valeo is uniquely positioned to support successful homologation while meeting the specific needs of automotive manufacturers.
Fabienne Lefever, Head of Automotive Industry, Capgemini Engineering comments, “Capgemini is proud to bring its end-to-end capabilities to this collaboration with Valeo, to accelerate the integration and validation of ADAS systems – from chip to cloud. Together with our Gen AI powered augmented engineering approach and our global expert teams, combined with Valeo’s ADAS expertise, this new initiative reinforces our shared commitment to advancing safer, data-driven mobility solutions and further strengthens our existing relationship with Valeo.”
“Ensuring seamless integration and robust testing is crucial for safety on the road. We are proud to leverage our complex systems integration expertise to deliver cutting-edge solutions that drive innovation and performance in the automotive industry. With this ADAS system, Valeo is taking ADAS to the next level and we are looking forward to working with Capgemini to deliver the best and most reliable solution to drivers worldwide”, said Joachim Mathes, Chief Technology Officer of Valeo Brain division.
