TOYOTA GAZOO Racing will write another step in the history books when the GR010 HYBRID Hypercar takes on new competitors in the 8 Hours of Portimao, round two of the 2021 FIA World Endurance Championship (WEC).

This week's event in Portugal marks Toyota's 100th race at the top level of World Championship endurance racing. Since the debut of the 83C car in the Fuji 1000km in October 1983, Toyota prototypes have participated in 99 World Championship races.

The screenless Elva is McLaren Automotive’s lightest-ever road car and the target for the windscreen version is around 20kg heavier, even with the inclusion of electronically synchronised rain-sensing wipers, washer jets and sun visors, as well of course as the heated glass windscreen within a carbon fibre surround. The Active Air Management System (AAMS) is deleted as it has no role to play in the windscreen car.

After hitting a pair of important technological milestones, TAE Technologies now believes it will be able to build a commercial-grade fusion reactor by 2030. The company said it can now sustain a plasma for an indefinite amount of time. TAE’s reactor needs to be able to heat plasma to 100 million degrees Celsius, but it recently demonstrated it can get to 50 million degrees C, which gives it confidence it can reach its goal before the end of the decade.

Two production facilities of the internationally active kitchen furniture manufacturer Schmidt are currently located in Sélestat. The name Schmidt has stood for particularly modern production technology and perfect quality since 1934 (founded in Türkismühle, Germany) and with over 1500 employees. German perfection and French design guarantee affordable furniture for the highest demands. The manufacturer of the robot processing cell is the Zimmer Group from Rheinau in Germany. On its way towards Industry 4.0, the Zimmer Group has evolved from a classic component supplier to a system provider and has thus produced an entire robotic cell at once.
