In September 2023, new car registrations increased by 9.2%, reaching 861,062 units, marking the EU car market’s fourteenth consecutive month of growth. Two of the EU’s largest markets saw substantial gains; Italy (+22.7%) and France (+10.7%). Germany’s market was relatively steady, with a tiny 0.1% drop compared to September 2022.

In the first three quarters of 2023, the EU car market grew substantially (+16.9%), totalling eight million registered units.

Earlier Xiaomi revealed it is launching its new flagships lineup this month, and now we have a date – the Xiaomi 14 series will be announced on October 26. The event will take place in China, where the company will introduce the phones with HyperOS and a variable aperture camera, co-developed with Leica.

The event is likely going to see two phones – Xiaomi 14 and Xiaomi 14 Pro, both of them with a Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset. An Ultra phone may or may not arrive later on.

Wipro Pari has signed a definitive agreement to acquire a majority stake in Italy-based Ferretto Automation & Services for an undisclosed amount.

Wipro Infrastructure Engineering operates in hydraulics, industrial automation, aerospace, water treatment, and additive manufacturing. Ferretto Automation & Services specialises in the design and manufacture of automated storage systems. It manufactures a full range of state-of-the-art intra-logistics automation solutions for all storage (ASRS – Automated Storage and Retrieval Systems), handling and distribution needs.

Although electric vehicles took roughly six years to get from 1% to 10% of global market share, it will take just six more years to reach 80% adoption, an RMI report says.

Electric vehicle battery costs should fall below $100/kWh by 2026, according to BloombergNEF’s 2022 Battery Price Survey, making EVs much more affordable. In addition, without the fuel or maintenance costs of ICE vehicles, EVs will also be cheaper to operate, which could further spur adoption. In Norway, approximately 80% of all new cars sold last year were fully electric.

In the lead up to the Japan Mobility Show in Tokyo later this month, Nissan Motor Co., Ltd. is revealing a series of exciting all-electric concept vehicles, the first of which is the Nissan Hyper Urban crossover, that prioritizes environmental sustainability.

Nissan also unveiled the Nissan Hyper Adventure, the second vehicle in its series of advanced EV concepts for the Japan Mobility Show on October 25. The digital concept is a sports SUV designed for people passionate about outdoor adventures and an eco-friendly lifestyle.

The German group BAUER, one of the world market leaders in the production of medium and high-pressure compressors up to 500 bar, opened its new factory in Ghimbav, Brasov County. The official inauguration took place in October, in the presence of the owners of the BAUER group. The factory in Ghimbav already has a number of 150 employees, who work both in the production area and in the research and development area. From the portfolio of the BAUER group, Ghimbav produces both piston and screw compressors of different models, sizes, pressures for various applications.

GROPYUS, a German-Austrian proptech specialised in sustainable and modular construction, and KUKA, a world-leading provider of intelligent automation solutions, have announced their collaboration to expand the production and manufacturing facility at GROPYUS’s Richen site. The core focus of this investment is making the factory a highly automated and fully digitally integrated manufacturing site. With 86% automation, they will be able to manufacture a wall element in 17 minutes – thanks to this new production line. A ceiling element will be ready in just 16 minutes.
