Vitesco Technologies selected Infineon’s CoolGaN™ Transistors to improve the power efficiency of its Gen5+ GaN Air DCDC converters. The CoolGaN™ Transistors 650 V manufactured by Infineon Technologies AG greatly enhance the overall performance of the system, while simultaneously reducing system cost and improving user-friendliness. Vitesco has developed a new generation of DCDC converters that have achieved exceptional power density (with an efficiency rating of over 96 percent) and have set new benchmarks for sustainability in power grids, power supply, and OBCs.

DS Smith has partnered with home appliance company Versuni to create a recycled, fibre-based packaging solution for the Philips Baristina coffee machine. The solution is made from recycled materials and features corrugated buffers treated with an anti-scratch coating, that has been applied to prevent external blemishes.
The concept was expertly designed by the experienced teams at DS Smith and Versuni to create a captivating ‘unboxing’ experience.
The European Commission has approved, under EU State aid rules, a €99.5 million (RON 495.2 million) Romanian measure in favor of Nokian Tyres. The aid will support the establishment of a new zero carbon dioxide emission factory for passenger car tyres in Oradea. The measure will contribute to the EU's strategic objectives relating to job creation, regional development and to the green transition of the regional economy.
Mercedes-Benz got the green light to test self-driving cars in China. The German automaker will run Level 4 autonomous vehicles on certain roads, making it the first foreign company to do so in the country.
Some of the moves to be tested include parking, reversing and turning left in busy traffic without driver intervention.
BMW Group Plant Spartanburg and California robotics company Figure test the use of humanoid robots in production. During a trial run lasting several weeks at BMW Group Plant Spartanburg, the latest humanoid robot, Figure 02 from California company Figure, successfully inserted sheet metal parts into specific fixtures, which were then assembled as part of the chassis. The robot must be particularly dexterous to complete this production step.
Nissan has been trialing an innovative automotive paint aimed at helping lower a vehicle’s ambient cabin temperature in summer and reduce the energy usage of the air-conditioning system.
The paint is developed in partnership with Radi-Cool, a specialist in radiative cooling products and it incorporates metamaterial, synthetic composite materials with structures that exhibit properties not usually found in nature.
Energy prices gained 2.1% in July, led by crude oil (+2.5%). Non-energy prices decreased by 2.3%.
Metal prices dropped by 3.4%, led by nickel (-6.6%), aluminum (-5.9%), and copper (-2.7%). Precious metals went up by 2.7%.
